Operating conditions: Valves used on pipelines in thermal power plants; Medium: Flue gas from heating pipelines; Pressure 1.6MPA ; Temperature: ≤350℃ ; Caliber 700/900 ; Flange connection ; May I ask, is there any way to achieve zero leakage for valves under such operating conditions? What type of valve should be used?
For such a large diameter, a butterfly valve would be the choice; a triple-eccentric butterfly valve should work as well
According to the testing standard 13927, hard-sealed valves cannot achieve absolutely zero leakage. I asked those who specialize in butterfly valves, and they said that a B-level of leakage performance is achievable without problem; however, the customer insists on zero leakage. So I consulted manufacturers specializing in gate valves, and they said that gate valves can achieve zero leakage, as they belong to the category of valves with forced sealing. . . I’m not very confident either. . .
Forget gate valves; I’ve never heard of gate valves being able to reach that level
So what kind of valve should be used? Jiangnan Valves makes butterfly valves, and they clearly told me that butterfly valves won’t work. . .
