According to the supplementary provisions for Class A1 fluid pipelines in the “Code for Design of Industrial Metal Piping”, “the flange rating for Class A1 fluids (extremely hazardous substances) must be no less than 2.0 MPa”. According to this requirement, the flange needs to be of 2.5 MPa grade. But the pipe grade is 1.6 MPa, is that okay?

L1B is a grade that is determined through human design; the pipeline itself does not have a grade, as long as its pressure-bearing capacity is sufficient.
