The two stop valves used in our plant’s liquid ammonia storage tanks have different structures: one has external threads with a gland, while the other has internal threads without a gland. What are the advantages and disadvantages of these two structures?

By using wire nuts in low-strength materials such as aluminum and magnesium, thread slippage and misalignment can be avoided, resulting in excellent bonding properties. 2. Wear-resistant. Used in areas that are frequently disassembled, it can **increase the service life of the threads**. 3. Increase the load-bearing surface. Used in areas where a strong bonding force is required without the possibility of increasing the screw hole diameter. 4. Prevent loosening. Especially in applications such as spacecraft where high safety factors are required. 5. Easy to maintain. Insert a damaged screw hole with a wire screw sleeve; once repaired, it can be used again, thereby avoiding the risk of the workpiece being classified as damaged. The difference between the inner and outer threads of threaded steel wire: actually, the outer thread is straight and fixed, and it is used to connect to the inner thread of the pipe. The external threaded fitting is provided for ease of future maintenance. Usually, the order is valve, external direct connection, union fitting, pipe. So, what is the difference between direct connection to water pressure and air pressure for external threads? In fact, when conducting pressure tests, water is used as it helps maintain the pressure, while air pressure makes it easier to locate leaks in the pipes. That is, there is no leakage under water pressure, but there is leakage under air pressure. The outer thread of a screw is more expensive than the inner thread.
With the same diameter and pressure rating, globe valves differ in terms of the pressure resistance provided by internal threading versus external threading; internal threading offers higher pressure resistance than external threading, thus providing greater safety. The external threads facilitate maintenance.
