Can a closed sampling device be installed directly on a straight pipe section? Is it necessary to install it in a location where there is a pressure difference upstream and downstream? For example, in front of and behind the control valve?

But without a pressure difference, isn’t the sampler essentially bypassed?
The sampling point of the sampler is located at the outlet of the pipeline, while the discharge point is usually a flare system or a waste discharge system (sealed). Even in the case of a bypass installation, there is a shut-off valve in between; when sampling is required, this shut-off valve is closed to allow the fluid to flow through the sampling bypass. Once sampling is complete, the flow is restored to its normal path.
