Recently, when looking at bolt and fastener standards, it is required that carbon steel components be treated with blueing. Why are there no requirements for galvanizing? In high-salt atmospheres, should galvanized bolts or hot-dip galvanized bolts be used? What are the specifications for hot-dip galvanizing of bolts?
It is most reasonable to make purchases as needed; hot-dip galvanizing is mostly used for facilities in the electrical sector.
Alloy high-strength fasteners are highly strong and generally require blueing treatment. Galvanizing has an impact on the performance of high-strength fasteners.
