I’m looking for valves with flange connections on both sides

Today, a client asked for a quote regarding butterfly valves with flange connections of the clamp type. I wasn’t sure what exactly a valve with clamp-type flange connections meant; clamp connection is one of the two ways in which valves can be connected. Why would they ask such a question?
It is essentially a wafer-type butterfly valve; it doesn’t have flanges, but rather fits between the two flanges of the pipeline
Okay, I see. The inquiry question really stumped me
Not only butterfly valves, but also check valves come in wafer type.
I know the wafer-type ones; knife gate valves also come in wafer-type versions
