In November 2023, 2 tank top relief valves and 60 safety valves from the Beijing Institute of Aerospace Propulsion were successfully installed in the 270,000 cubic meter liquefied natural gas storage tank system at the Qingdao Liquefied Natural Gas Receiving Station of Sinopec’s Natural Gas Division. The successful application of the tank top relief valves and safety valves at the Beijing Aerospace Power Research Institute provides effective overpressure protection for the tanks and the associated piping systems, ensuring the safe operation of the entire system. In particular, the roof vent valve, which has been listed by Sinopec as a key product for domestic production, its successful application has broken the foreign monopoly and significantly enhanced China’s ability to control and develop its own large-scale liquefied natural gas storage technologies.
