Will this really generate static electricity or sparks?

I don’t know much about static electricity; my company is in the fine chemicals industry and uses many paint cans to store solvents. Recently, the safety officer requested that aluminum sheets be placed on some platform scales, stating that this way, when paint drums are lifted onto them, the collision between the iron drums and the aluminum sheets will not generate sparks. (Transporting paint buckets isn’t the same as smashing them.) . . ) Although the aluminum plate is 5 mm thick, it is still prone to deformation; if it is thicker, steps will form, making it difficult to handle.
What material is your platform scale made of? Is it a metal floor or a concrete floor?
For iron scales, the scale body is usually made of patterned steel plates and painted; however, the paint may eventually get damaged, but the scale body is always grounded.
Replacing it with an aluminum plate is supposed to prevent sparks caused by impacts from iron objects, rather than preventing static electricity
