For steam pipes outside the plant, cold tightening is used. Is the location of the cold joint near the fixing frame, near the compensation bend, or somewhere in between? It would be good to explain the reason

Personal opinion: 1. When the cold joint is close to the elbow, the cross-section of the connection area tends to be oval, resulting in a \"zigzag\" shape for the pipe after connection. 2. When the cold joint is located near the middle of the long pipe, the tendency for the connection area’s cross-section to be oval decreases, and the pipe becomes a smooth \"straight line\" after connection. 3.
