What is the structure of this check valve, and in which direction does it open? Does the counterweight plate rotate upward or downward?
The blind men touching the elephant discussed whether a valve was too focused on a single aspect.
I have never seen this type of valve. . .

This type of check valve will not provide good sealing performance. It seems that the weight plate rotates upward, while the sealing plate moves downward. Some manufacturers are also rather vague regarding the weight of check valves. The purpose of the counterweight is not to facilitate sealing, but to reduce the closing speed. Generally, there are two types of configurations: one that is favorable for the sealing direction, and another that is not favorable for it. Counterweights that are not favorable for the sealing direction have a slight resistive effect.
