Question: Is there a \"longitudinal corrugated compensator for large tie rods\"? Note: This does not refer to the \"large tie rod transverse corrugated compensator\"; in other words, only longitudinal compression is required, longitudinal stretching is not allowed, and no transverse displacement is needed.
1. For the large tie rods of pressure-balanced expansion joints, the distance between the tie rods remains constant; the tie rods are used to transmit forces in order to achieve force balance, with two nuts being used at each end of the tie rods to hold the \"fixing plate\" in place. 2. When only axial compression is allowed, the nuts on the inside of the “fixed plates” at both ends can be loosened to leave at least enough space for axial compression, thereby meeting the owner’s requirements; in this case, the tie rod is not under any stress and functions merely as a dummy element. 3. After the inner nuts are loosened, the tie rod serves only to limit stretching forces and has no effect on compression. 4. By using guiding fixtures to connect the tie rod to the intermediate section, the tendency of column instability under axial compression can be reduced
