In dry chlorine systems, valves designed specifically for chlorine are used (similar in structure to globe valves). In the past two years, there has been a frequent issue of these valves becoming difficult to turn – it can take as little as three months or as long as a year before the valves start to stick. Valves of DN150 and DN200 size could initially be turned easily by hand, but later on a F-ratchet was required; eventually, even three people using an F-ratchet were unable to turn them. Valves from three different manufacturers all exhibited this same problem. What could be the cause of this? I would appreciate it if someone from the valve management team could help explain this. Thank you!
It would be better to provide more information; product images and nameplates would be helpful for understanding the product’s structural features. Is it a bellows type or a regular type? What kind of packing is used, and what material is the valve made of, especially the valve stem and internal components? Under normal circumstances, the first thing to consider is whether material corrosion has occurred during use (such as moisture entering the valve), and the second thing is to examine whether the product’s design is reasonable.
Switch to a bellows; the ordinary ones tend to rust and get stuck
