What is the maximum size that seamless galvanized steel pipes can reach? Are larger sizes still connected using threads?

For previous projects, galvanized steel pipes were used for instrument air, with a maximum diameter of 4 inches and threaded connections; the current project requires 8-inch pipes. Can the manufacturer produce them, and will they still use threaded connections? I would appreciate advice from those with experience in this area!
It’s already this thick; why not weld it? Or weld flanges and bolt them together.
