Do pipe supports and pipe racks for insulated pipes need to be fixed together? For example, with J1 type pipe supports, is welding for fixation required?
Those designed as fixed pipe supports need to be secured, while sliding pipe supports cannot be fixed.

Welding does not guarantee the stability of the entire piping system; it depends on the results of stress calculations (for pipelines for which stress calculations are performed). For pipelines for which no such calculations are done, sliding and guiding supports are generally sufficient
