Gate valve structural length

According to GB/T 12221, for gate valves, there are two types: the basic series and those with flange connections, each having its own structural length. As stated in the Guidelines for Selection of Industrial Valves, PN-series valves should indicate the basic series code as per standard GB/T 12221. Then, when is the structural length specified for gate valves with flange connections used? I would appreciate expert advice, thank you!
The nominal length of the flanged gate valve is selected from the basic series of flanged valves; you can find this information in the second-to-last row of the table
