For valve gas vessels with a volume of less than 1 m3, which are considered simple pressure vessels, is it necessary to equip such vessels with safety valves? The air pressure in a typical factory is 0.7 MPa, while the design pressure for gas containers is generally 1.1 MPa; thus, there is no risk of overpressure. Some of the gas containers that have arrived now are equipped with safety valves, while others only have an interface provided. I would like to ask the experts here: could you please advise on how to ensure compliance? Any relevant regulations would also be appreciated
As long as controlling the pressure source is no problem, that’s fine!
Safety valves need to be installed; otherwise, the safety inspection will not pass
No, it’s a safety inspection. Pressure vessels are considered special equipment, and it is the local market supervision authority that sends personnel to conduct inspections and approvals; only after passing these inspections can they be used. Although your vessel is small, it still falls into this category, so it needs to be equipped with a safety valve. All related documents for the vessel must also be kept safe, as they will be required during the inspection. No issues were found; if they were found to be missing, the fine would be very heavy
A simple pressure vessel can be used, but it’s not necessary
The OP has asked the right person: lol. Last year, the project also encountered issues with the instrument air buffer tanks for several pneumatic valves, so we made a special trip to the special inspection institute. Containers of this type are considered simple pressure vessels; the Special Inspection Agency does not handle their registration, nor is regular inspection required. The safety valve was sent for inspection before it was installed. A safety valve can also be installed, but it doesn’t serve a great purpose. On a few occasions, the safety valve activated due to fluctuations in instrument air pressure; therefore, the set pressure was deliberately increased to 0.88 MPa. Chapter 6 of the standard \"TSG R0003-2007 Safety Technical Inspection Regulations for Simple Pressure Vessels\" clearly outlines the regulations regarding the use of such vessels, and the original poster can study it.
