Whether a steel pipe is seamless or welded depends on factors such as the pressure and temperature of the medium, and has nothing to do with the pipe diameter. There is no such thing as seamless pipes being used for DN200 and below, and welded steel pipes being used for those above.

This depends on the conveying medium, temperature, and pressure. If you are transporting gases at atmospheric pressure or at only a few kPa, which are non-toxic, harmless, and have low corrosivity, welded pipes with a diameter of DN200 can also be used, with a wall thickness of 2 mm or 3 mm being sufficient.
This is because there are few manufacturers that produce large-diameter seamless steel pipes, making them difficult to obtain

Based on our factory’s purchasing patterns, for values below 200, seamless pipes are generally purchased, while for values above 250, spiral-welded steel pipes are used; straight-welded pipes are also used in some cases
