Some say it’s a short-radius elbow, but doesn’t a short-radius elbow also require welding or flange connection? Moreover, there are elbows with r/d=1 in category (2). I hope you will kindly offer your guidance
Is it because with a short radius, the two flanges connected by flanges tend to collide?
Elbows that are not made of special materials are generally welded, right?
Isn’t a short radius simply R/d=1? However, there are also those of the second type with r/d=1.
So I find this classification hard to understand
The flange definitely affects installation; generally, a section of straight pipe is welded first and then the flange is added
