This DN600 butterfly valve is located one meter underground, and it is inconvenient to operate it each time as it requires going down into the well; now, a chain is intended to be added to the handwheel so that the valve can be controlled from outside the well. One idea that came to mind was to remove the handwheel and weld the winch shaft to the valve stem, but this doesn’t seem to be a good solution; the valve isn’t directly below the wellhead, so it would need to be pulled at an angle. Do the experts have any other good ideas?

Search for “toothed sprocket chain” on Bao; the toothed sprockets used with hand wheels may require special processing, and can only be used for adjustment purposes. Operating the force-control switch might be a bit awkward. It can also use rack and screw drive mechanisms, along with hydraulic or electric devices, to achieve automatic adjustment and remote control. The simple solution is to extend the valve worm until it is directly above the wellhead, then weld a fixing bracket to the pipe or clamp it onto the pipe; everything else becomes much easier from there. Modifying it with a guide chain is the most convenient; the method from upstairs is also very good.
Remove the handwheel, install a 90-degree direction-changing gearbox at that location to extend it up to the surface, and then attach the handwheel.
