Regarding the certificate of material for pipe fittings, should the fields for chemical composition and mechanical properties be filled with the original data of the steel tubes used as raw materials for the pipe fittings, or with the data obtained from retesting the finished pipe fittings?
The chemical composition remains unchanged during processes such as elbow fabrication
Strictly speaking, you need to test the pipe fittings, right? ! For testing, all data fields must be filled in with the actual measured values. Although no changes occur in the elements of the steel pipe during its processing into pipe fittings, it’s possible that the material sheet provided by the previous supplier for the pipe does not correspond exactly to your raw material :)
According to the provisions of the GBT 13401 2017 standard for steel butt-welded pipe fittings, Part 10 on product quality certificates specifies that such certificates shall indicate the grade of the raw materials as well as their chemical composition.
There are also the requirements for pipe fittings according to the American standard ASME, provided by an experienced colleague; these requirements differ from those of the national standard. It seems it depends on which standard you use for design, ordering, and execution.
