Dear Haihao friends! In my project, there is a compressed air pipeline made of 304 material with dimensions of φ508*5.54 mm, operating at a pressure of 0.8 MPa. As required by the client, a DN50 branch pipe needs to be added at a certain point. The materials purchased do not include branch fittings or reducing tees; the client wants the pipes to be connected by making direct holes. Is this approach in compliance with the relevant standards? Where can I find a reducer tee for such a large pipe diameter? Consider it based on the pipe openings on the cylinder!
You can use a pipe rack. But the pipe rack was not used either.
Clause 5.1.7.3a of GB20801.3-2020 states that \"pressure design shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of 6.7 and 6.8\", which means that for welds with direct openings, reinforcement calculations for those openings are required; otherwise, branch pipe supports must be used.

Pipe racks are better. Reinforcement is also okay.
The calculation for a pipe with a thickness of 50 that is slightly greater works fine; specifically, equal-area reinforcement can be used for such calculations.
It is best to use pipe sleeves, but in practice, when large-diameter pipes are equipped with smaller-diameter branch pipes (relative to the main pipe), welding is carried out directly through openings; of course, pressure and stress must be taken into consideration above all else. The first image seems to show that the solder joints are not very full.
