Why are cut-off valves rarely installed at the outlets of safety vent valves in LNG pipelines at present? Because when the safety valve is calibrated offline, if other safety valves activate to vent the system, leaks will occur, creating safety hazards.
A shut-off valve is not allowed to be installed at the outlet of the safety valve. In principle, shut-off valves are not permitted at the inlet of safety valves either; if it is absolutely necessary to install one, it must be permanently left open and sealed with lead. When the safety valve is taken offline for inspection, it is sufficient to install a blind plate at the outlet pipe.
