I have just started working on chemical engineering projects, and I’ve encountered some difficulties at work; I would appreciate it if experts could offer some guidance. The question might be a bit superficial – that is, once the owner hands over the construction drawings to the contractor, the contractor can then obtain the materials and proceed with construction according to those drawings. The owner has an office at the construction site; when the construction team is working, is it necessary to send someone to the site to supervise the entire construction process? Or is it only when the contractor encounters problems that need to be solved that people are sent to the construction site, without the need to keep an eye on it constantly? Will there be a difference in construction quality in the two cases (provided that the construction team is qualified)?
Nature of the project: Is it an EPC turnkey contract or a subcontracting arrangement? With a general contract, overall control can be exercised over the construction progress and quality on site; it is recommended that subcontracts be used to monitor the quality on site.
After the owner hands over the construction drawings to the contractor, the contractor obtains the materials and carries out the construction according to the drawings. The client assigns professionals to the construction site to supervise the work. When the contractors encounter problems that need to be resolved, both the design institute and the supervision team are present at the site to oversee the construction. Weekly coordination meetings are held on-site to address the contractors’ issues and monitor the progress of the work; it is not necessary to be constantly on site.

Then it’s necessary to strictly control quality. Without supervision, even if the owner doesn’t pay enough attention, even the most reputable construction companies might slack off
It’s like renovating your own home: the contractor makes great promises, but no one would calmly wait until work starts to check things out. They cut corners, use substandard materials indiscriminately, and show no regard for proper construction practices; if the homeowner doesn’t keep an eye on things, all sorts of problems will arise
It is recommended to conduct on-site inspections regularly. Hidden works must be inspected, while others should be checked randomly. Otherwise, even the best construction company will mess things up for you!
