I have a question: how should the effective volume of an underground water tank be calculated? As shown in the figure below: Is the effective volume of the water tank calculated based on the distance from the bottom to the top of the tank (e.g., 3m), or based on the 2m height from the rainwater inlet? Or others. A denotes a rainwater inlet; there are N such inlets throughout the plant, and all rainwater inlets A are located at a higher level than the rainwater inlet of the pool.
Because this effective volume is related to the issue of deep foundation pits. Thank you!

Thank you. But I didn’t understand what you meant. According to the simple diagram, the reason why a depth of 3 meters can be used is that since the pool is underground, the rainwater inlets are at elevations 2 meters and 3 meters higher than that of the pool; therefore, 3 meters can be used as the reference value. If the pool is installed at a higher elevation than the rainwater inlets, then 2 meters should be used instead. Is my understanding above correct? Or there are others.
Yes. However, according to the simplified diagram, exhaust vents should be installed on the top of the tank.

Using 3 meters as the standard, the amount that can be held in the pipes can also be included in the total amount of rainwater.
