I’m asking those who know more in the help group: In the tap water pipeline, the pressure in the main line is 14 kilograms; it needs to be reduced to 4-5 kilograms before reaching the village. A 200X pressure regulator is being used. Will the pressure at the outlet still remain at 5 kilograms even when the outlet is closed at night? Can the pressure relief valve close to maintain the pressure once the set pressure is reached? Some manufacturers claim it’s possible, but I’m not sure; I hope experts who know more can give me some advice! Thank you! ! !
Let me share my opinion. First of all, the pressure in a pipe refers to the pressure exerted on the pipe by the fluid. What you’ve mentioned is the force applied to the pipe when water is flowing, or the pressure experienced by the pipe. This pressure could be the potential energy provided by the pump to the water, or it could be the gravitational potential energy resulting from the height of the water tower. Once the pressure regulator is turned off, the water essentially comes to rest; there is no longer any potential energy provided by the pump nor any gravitational potential energy from the water tower, only the gravitational potential energy of the water itself. So I’m not quite sure what \"maintaining pressure\" means. . . And what’s the purpose of the valve? . Isn’t water not needed at night?

By night, when everyone turns off their faucets, the water pipes burst. So, I need a valve that can reduce pressure even when the outlet is closed at night
