I would like to ask the experts: Since a spherical shut-off valve has been installed, how can one determine whether it is open or closed during daily operations, given that there are no indicators on the outside of the valve indicating its state
First, before installation, when positioning the valve body in connection with the valve actuator, there is a travel switch at the top of the actuator, and there should be a switch mark on it. If not, you can refer to the valve body and mark it at this position again. For reference.
The valve’s on/off status should be visible within the green circle in the diagram
But I didn’t get any response on the first round; I don’t know if there’s a limit or what’s going on
Normally, it is automatically controlled and no intervention is required for the switch; those equipped with a handwheel can also be switched to manual mode
Some need to be switched to manual mode in order to control them with a handwheel; otherwise, the handwheel rotates uselessly. An opening indicator should be installed at the middle of the actuator, right above the valve stem. If it is not present or is damaged, it is possible to check the opening level from the valve stem; however, it is necessary to set the valve to the fully open and fully closed positions once and make corresponding markings.
On normal actuators, there is a switch indicator; be careful not to install them in the wrong direction
I get it now: those with a first-stage wheel on the side don’t require switching; they can be turned on or off directly. These are wind-operated valves, and once the power is cut off, the first-stage wheel can be turned directly – though it’s a bit slow!
