Polished ball valves have always existed, and they are mostly used in pharmaceutical factories. These valves can reduce the time that the medium stays inside the valve chamber as well as the amount of residue, thereby **decreasing the corrosion of the valve caused by the medium. A small portion is also used in food, for the same reason: to reduce the time bacteria remain in the valve chamber and thus minimize bacterial growth.
