A steam pressure reducer regulates the flow rate of steam by controlling the opening degree of the valve element inside it, thereby reducing the pressure of the medium. The opening degree of this valve element is adjusted based on the pressure behind the valve, so as to keep that pressure within a certain range. Additionally, the opening degree of the valve is adjusted in real time as the steam load changes, ensuring stable pressure downstream. The advantage of steam pressure reducers is their ability to maintain the outlet pressure and temperature within a specified range, even when the inlet pressure keeps changing. It can be seen that what determines the outlet pressure of the pressure reducing valve is primarily the speed of steam condensation, which is influenced by the steam load on the heat exchanger; when the load varies within a certain range, the pressure reducing valve adjusts its opening degree to control the outlet pressure. Currently, steam pressure relief valves available on the market can be classified by structure into directly-acting diaphragm type and directly-acting bellows type, pilot-spring diaphragm type and pilot-piston type, as well as lever-type pressure relief valves ; Based on the number of valve seats, they can be manually classified as single-seat and double-seat types ; Based on the position of the valve disc, they can be divided into direct-acting and reverse-acting types. The pressure relief valve primarily controls the stable outlet pressure of the main valve; the outlet pressure of the main valve does not change as a result of changes in the inlet pressure, nor does it change due to variations in the flow rate at the main valve’s outlet. A. Due to the amplification effect of the main diaphragm, with proper selection, the steam pressure can be accurately controlled within a deviation range of 0.2 bar. B. Installation and maintenance of imported pressure reducing valves: 1. The pressure measurement point at the rear of the steam pressure relief valve should be as far away as possible from other manual valves, in order to avoid frequent activation caused by pressure disturbances. 5. The pressure relief valve is the throttling point where the pressure drop in the steam system is greatest, with flow speeds as high as 200 meters per second; therefore, it is advisable to install a DF200 high-efficiency steam-water separator in front of the pressure relief valve. 6. For applications with large fluctuations in flow rate, parallel pressure reduction stations should be used for staged control ; For applications with an excessively high pressure reduction ratio (10:1), it is best to use a series of pressure reduction stations to achieve staged pressure reduction. The pressure relief valve cannot be selected simply based on the pipe diameter; it must be chosen taking into account parameters such as upstream and downstream pressures, steam flow rate, flow fluctuations, and the required pressure accuracy.
