Safety first. Prevention first: Let’s praise and encourage the achievements made in China’s chemical engineering technology and equipment. **********************【A decade of rapid development in chemical engineering equipment】Regular updates and summaries are available; feel free to join the discussions at https://bbs.hcbbs.com/thread-3576046-1-1.html (Source: Haichuan Chemical Engineering Forum) ***************** On November 22nd, China’s first high-pressure long-distance gas pipeline equipped with hydrogen, the Baotou-Linhe gas pipeline project operated by Inner Mongolia Western Natural Gas Company, was officially completed and put into operation, with Baoshiwei Company from Bao Shi Guan Ye acting as the main supplier of steel pipes. To ensure the smooth progress of the project, Baoshiwei Company, considering the application prospects of steel pipes in the hydrogen energy sector and taking into account the requirements of this pipeline project, promptly collaborated with steel pipe research institutes and steel mills. Based on research into the factors affecting hydrogen embrittlement in pipeline steel, it successfully developed hot-rolled sheets with excellent resistance to hydrogen embrittlement ; The forming process for small-diameter spiral submerged arc welded pipes has been optimized, resulting in forming parameters suitable for spiral welded pipes with a diameter of 508 millimeters or less; this has reduced the forming stress in small-diameter pipes ; Technical exchanges were carried out with several welding material manufacturers, and through multiple rounds of testing to determine the suitability of various welding materials, the welding process for hydrogen-infused delivery pipes as well as the selection of appropriate welding materials were optimized, resulting in a significant improvement in the toughness of the welds ; Spiral submerged arc welded pipes for medium and high-pressure hydrogen transportation have been successfully developed, enabling industrialization as well as widespread adoption. During the production process, Baoshiwei Company carefully organizes manufacturing, strictly controls product quality, strengthens internal management, and continuously optimizes tube-making processes. From the selection of raw materials to the monitoring of each production step, every detail is handled with utmost care. During peak production periods, resources are allocated reasonably, with increased investment in human and material resources to ensure a stable supply of steel pipes. During the project construction period, the company’s management, technical staff, and project managers visited the construction site on multiple occasions to provide after-sales service and technical support, ensuring that the project was completed on schedule. On November 22, Du Mingli, Secretary of the Party Committee, Executive Director, and General Manager of Baoshiwei Company, was invited to attend the ignition and commissioning ceremony held at the Linhe transfer station. The successful commissioning of this project has enabled the interconnection of gas pipelines in the central and western regions of Inner Mongolia, which holds great strategic significance for the promotion of hydrogen energy and the achievement of the \"dual carbon\" strategic goals. The starting point of the pipeline for this project is Jiuyuan District in Baotou City; it passes through Wulat Qianqi and Wuyuan County in Bayannur City, and connects with the Changwu-Lin pipeline in Linhe District. The total length of the pipeline is 249 kilometers, with a total amount of steel pipes used amounting to 24,200 tons. As the largest supplier for this project, the company has supplied 134 kilometers of high-quality steel pipes, totaling 13,300 tons, which accounts for 55% of the total amount of pipes required for this project. At present, the maximum gas transmission capacity of the Baotou-Linhe high-pressure long-distance gas pipeline project with hydrogen blending is 1.2 billion cubic meters per year, and the hydrogen blending ratio can reach 10%. This project is of great significance for ensuring a safe, continuous, and stable supply of natural gas in the areas surrounding the pipeline, promoting the adjustment and optimization of the regional energy structure, facilitating the transition to new forms of energy, and improving the regional air quality.
