On July 24, the first batch of 50 submerged arc welded straight-seam pure hydrogen transport pipes for the Damao Banner to Baotou section of the demonstration project for a long-distance, large-scale green hydrogen pipeline in China – the hydrogen transmission pipeline from Ulanqab City in Inner Mongolia to the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region – were produced at CNPC Baoshishun Company located in Qinhuangdao, Hebei. Previously, Baoshishun Company completed the trial production of straight-seam submerged arc welded pipes with dimensions of D610×12.7/14.3 mm, designed for transporting pure hydrogen, using X52MH/X60MH hydrogen-conducting steel plates in various steel mills. Against the backdrop of the global energy transition, hydrogen, as an important component of clean energy, is gradually becoming a strategic emerging industry that countries are competing to develop. CNPC Baoshishun keeps pace with the times, actively responds to the call for the \"dual carbon\" goals, is committed to exploring hydrogen energy as a new field of development, and continues to work toward making its products more environmentally friendly. The pure hydrogen transport pipes launched this time are innovative products developed by the company through long-term research and development as well as process optimization, in response to the specific requirements of the hydrogen transportation sector. This product utilizes advanced submerged arc welding technology for straight seams. It features extremely high purity and ultra-fine grain size, effectively reducing the risk of hydrogen embrittlement and ensuring the long-term stable operation of pipelines in high-pressure pure hydrogen environments.
