Vacuum valves are components in a vacuum system that are used to change the direction of airflow, regulate the volume of airflow, and open or close pipelines. Ordinary valves operate under normal or positive pressure conditions; their main function is to control the flow of various fluids (liquids, gases, slurries). Difference between vacuum valves and ordinary valves: 01 Application scenarios Vacuum valves are primarily used in vacuum systems; they are valves designed specifically for controlling gas flow. Ordinary valves, on the other hand, are widely used in pipelines for various fluids such as water, oil, and gas. 02 Working Principle In principle, there is a fundamental difference between vacuum valves and ordinary valves: Vacuum valves primarily rely on precise mechanical structures and the pressure difference characteristics of the vacuum system to control the flow of gases ; Ordinary valves, on the other hand, mostly actively cut off or regulate the flow of fluid in a pipeline by raising, lowering, or rotating a valve element (such as a valve disc or sphere). 03 Different materials and processing techniques: \"Cleanliness-focused\" vs \"Durable\" vacuum valves: Materials: They are usually made from high-purity materials such as stainless steel, copper, and other high-quality metal materials to meet the requirements of vacuum environments. Process: Before leaving the factory, it must undergo strict ultrasonic cleaning, drying, and even high-temperature baking to remove surface oils and adsorbed gas molecules. Ordinary valves: Material: Selected based on the medium, such as cast iron, cast steel, brass, plastic, etc.; emphasis is placed on corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and cost. Process: Standard rust prevention and painting treatments; cleanliness at industrial standards is sufficient. Misconception warning: They must never be used interchangeably! 1. Using ordinary valves in vacuum systems: poor sealing will result in an inability to achieve a vacuum at all ; Its rough inner walls and material will continuously release gas like a vent, contaminating the vacuum environment ; Its structure may not be able to withstand being crushed by the pressure difference from outside to inside. 2. Using vacuum valves in positive-pressure pipelines: Their precise but relatively weak sealing structures (such as rubber rings) may be damaged by high-pressure media or suffer from severe internal leakage ; The strength of its valve body may not be sufficient to withstand high pressure, posing a risk of explosion.
