Double-gear valves generally refer to valves whose opening and closing are controlled through gear transmission; common examples include bevel-gear driven double-acting valves; A chain valve is a valve that uses a chain drive to control the lifting and lowering of the gate, and it is generally a chain-type knife gate valve. Their differences and connections are as follows: Difference in transmission mechanism: Double-gear valves use gear engagement for transmission; for example, the bevel gear-driven double-acting valve converts the rotational motion of the handwheel into vertical up-and-down movement of the valve stem through a pair of conical gear sets that intersect at 90 degrees. Chain valves operate through the interaction between a chain and sprockets; when the drive handwheel or electric mechanism is activated, the sprocket rotates, which in turn drives the chain to move the gate plate up and down in a linear manner. Structural features: The double-gear valve structure is relatively complex, comprising components such as gear pairs, handwheels, and main shafts. The structure of a chain valve is relatively simple, mainly consisting of a valve body, gate plate, sprocket, chain, and handwheel. Applicable scenarios: Double-gear valves are commonly used in applications where high sealing performance is required, such as pipeline control in the petroleum and chemical industries. Chain valves are suitable for pipes installed at high positions, or in situations where the medium contains particles, fibers, and other impurities, such as in discharge devices or at the inlets and outlets of silos in industries like metallurgy, chemicals, and building materials. Operational performance: The double-gear valve mechanism offers high transmission efficiency, enables a large gear ratio, provides significant driving torque, and makes it easier to open and close the valve. Chain valves are flexible and easy to operate, and their chain length can be customized to meet different installation height requirements; however, they are generally not suitable for applications that require frequent and rapid opening and closing. Purpose of the control function: Both are control components in pipeline systems, primarily used to regulate the flow of fluids, and can be applied in industries such as chemical engineering and metallurgy. Driving method: All can be operated manually, with the valve opening and closing controlled via a handwheel; they can also be upgraded to electric, pneumatic, or other driving methods. Materials for certain components: The range of materials available for parts such as the valve body overlaps; cast iron, cast steel, stainless steel, and other materials can all be used to meet the requirements of different media and operating conditions.
