They operate continuously; one has a normal flow rate of 520 kg/h, while the other has a flow rate of 2000 kg/h. The material handled is highly alkaline wastewater. However, these two pneumatic diaphragm pumps often leak and malfunction, so we plan to replace them. Which type of pump should be chosen to meet the process requirements?
This is a matter of material selection, not the pump type, right?
If the discharge pressure is not high, a mechanical diaphragm metering pump can be considered. Its features: no moving seals, no leaks. At present, the metering pumps of Mintonro still perform well. You can consult the manufacturer.
That’s too general a statement. As for why the pump leaks frequently, it’s not necessarily due to an incorrect selection of the pump; you should also check the connections and seals
Hey, is it really necessary to have that extra money? Go and reflect. If you can’t post it, then don’t post at all
This flow rate is decent; 520 kg/h is considered low, while 2000 kg/h is not low at all. There are many types of pumps available – if the pressure isn’t high, a magnetic pump can be used; if the pressure is high, an vortex pump or a three-plunger metering pump may be suitable. In cases of corrosion, a PTFE-coated magnetic pump can be chosen. There are many options available, and the prices are not high either.
Leakage occurs at the diaphragm seal of the diaphragm pump, and the ball inside is worn out
