What is the difference between excess alkalinity and alkalinity in saltwater? What does excess alkalinity refer to, and what is alkalinity?
What I say isn’t necessarily correct: since the units are different, these two indicators have different significance in terms of requirements； But they are all amounts equivalent to an excess of base, so the units can be made consistent. Essentially, there’s no difference.
