In recent years, the soda ash industry has developed rapidly. Could experts share their views on the advantages and disadvantages of the two methods used for soda ash production?
Advantages of the ammonia-alkali process; Raw materials are generally readily available and inexpensive ; The product has a high purity and good quality, allowing for continuous production; it is suitable for large-scale industrial manufacturing. Disadvantages ; The utilization rate of raw materials is low; the utilization rate of sodium chloride is less than 30% ; Waste residues and liquid waste are difficult to handle, causing significant pollution. Advantages of the combined alkaline soda process ; 1. High raw material utilization rate. 2. The production of soda ash does not require large-scale equipment such as lime kilns, lime slaking machines, and distillation towers, thus saving on investment costs. 3. Eliminate large amounts of waste residue and liquid waste, reducing environmental pollution. 4. Produce nitrogen fertilizer, ammonium chloride. Disadvantages ; 1. The production and recycling of mother liquor requires large volumes, resulting in high energy consumption and low equipment volume utilization efficiency. 2. It is difficult to control the mother liquor equilibrium. 3. The ammonium chloride mother liquor is highly corrosive, requiring stringent anti-corrosion measures.
