I’d like to ask for everyone’s advice: Our plant has just started production. Recently, the soda ash has appeared reddish in color; its aqueous solution is brick-red in color, and there are also small amounts of flocculent insoluble substances. However, the iron content test results are within acceptable limits. I wonder what could be the reason for this. I hope that more experienced colleagues can offer some guidance! (Each time the system is initially started up, the AII entering the tower is slightly reddish.)
I wonder if the iron content mentioned by the OP as meeting the acceptable standards in the iron analysis refers to the iron content in the finished alkali product? The finished soda ash is slightly reddish in color. I believe this is still due to iron; perhaps it’s some other iron-containing substance. Having no experience with soda ash, no further analysis can be conducted.

A reddish tint in dark gray doesn’t necessarily mean excessive iron content {:1_90:}. So, what’s the current iron content in dark gray?

The heavy ash iron content is 0.0043%. The key issue is that sometimes our light ash also turns red! For our carbon dioxide gas, we use coal gasification. I wonder if this has any effect? ! Please also give me your guidance……
The heavy gray iron content is high... How much oxygen is present in the carbon dioxide after gasification? If the oxygen content is high, then the iron content will also be high
The iron content has reached 0.0043? Isn’t this high enough? Currently, we’re keeping it within the range of 0.0009–0.0015, with most values being below 0.001.
The iron content is too high. The carbon dioxide produced from gasification contains excessive oxygen, causing oxidation of the equipment.

The analysis was done on the iron in the solution and the iron within the flocculent solids; nothing was obtained from it. The actual iron content is very high. This is inevitable. You might consider adding something like sodium sulfide to the clarification tank, so that iron can precipitate out in the tank and then be drained away. Additionally, the fewer CO2 impurities that enter the tower, the better. Lessons learned from experience.
