How should the water spray system for absorbing liquid chlorine be designed around the liquid chlorine plant? How should the water curtain nozzles be arranged? And how should the parameters of the water curtain be determined? ?

A water curtain spraying system can be installed around the liquid chlorine plant; Sprinkler systems are not suitable for installation within the liquid chlorine storage area. Because of the regulations, (1) it is prohibited to spray water directly on liquid chlorine cylinders in case of a leak; to deal with such leaks, it is recommended to use specialized vacuum chambers or negative pressure ventilation systems ; (2) When a liquid chlorine storage tank leaks, it is prohibited to spray water directly onto the tank; instead, misting water spray devices can be installed around the factory building and the perimeter of the tank area. An appropriate amount of caustic soda solution can be added to the spraying water to minimize the pollution of the air caused by chlorine gas. There is no unified standard for water curtain spray systems; generally, the spray water is placed near the trench, covered with grates, and connected to the accident tank.
A simple mobile water curtain spraying system can be installed around the liquid chlorine plant. It’s easy to set up: carbon steel pipes are used to create a T-shaped structure, with 2–3 slits of 1–1.5 mm in length made in the horizontal section; the vertical end is fitted with quick-connect fittings for fire hoses. When needed, the fire hose can be connected to these T-shaped nozzles, and by opening the fire water valve and adjusting the water pressure, a water curtain can be created. By installing multiple such nozzles at various locations depending on the site’s topography, a satisfactory effect can be achieved; placing several such water curtain units at intervals of a few meters will yield even better results. The width and length of the openings in the nozzles, as well as the number of openings, can be pre-determined and adjusted according to the specific conditions at the site; moreover, the nozzles can be organized into groups labeled as the first circle, second circle, etc.

Water curtains and hoses can be installed around the plant as a final barrier for dealing with leaks, to prevent liquid chlorine from spreading outside the storage area.
A ring of water spray pipes is installed above the exterior of the factory building, with nozzles placed every 40 centimeters and controlled by electric valves. A water curtain hose is installed at the lower part
