What is the difference between light ash furnace gas and heavy ash furnace gas in soda ash production? What are the components of furnace gas, and is there a big difference in composition? Not very clear. I hope technical personnel in the industry can explain it in detail. Thank you in advance.
There is no difference between light ash furnace gas and heavy ash furnace gas in soda ash production. Heavy ash means light ash is washed and centrifuged once and then fried again. The furnace gases of light ash furnaces and heavy ash furnaces are of course different. Light ash is sodium bicarbonate turned into sodium carbonate, while heavy ash furnace is light ash sodium carbonate turned into heavy ash by heavy frying.

Light ash furnace gas refers to the gas produced by calcining sodium bicarbonate. The gas is mainly carbon dioxide and water vapor, and contains a small amount of NH3 and leaked air. The heavy ash furnace gas is sodium carbonate produced by calcining light ash. It is hydrated to produce sodium carbonate monohydrate. Sodium carbonate monohydrate is calcined to produce heavy soda ash and heavy ash furnace gas. The heavy ash furnace gas is basically completely water vapor, and contains a small amount of leaked air. The packing density and angle of repose of light soda ash and heavy soda ash are different.
