The concentrated sulfuric acid pump tank in our factory is constructed with a carbon steel tank body lined with acid-resistant tiles. According to the drawings, one of the materials used in the construction of the pump tank is an FXG-Ⅰ composite felt, which serves as an isolation layer. I would like to ask my colleagues the following: 1. This isolation layer should be located between carbon steel and acid-resistant tiles. Why is it necessary to apply a barrier layer first on the inner wall of carbon steel? 2. What are the requirements for materials in this isolation layer? 3. What exactly is the FXG-Ⅰ composite felt? Are there any alternative materials?
This FXG-Ⅰ composite felt has a high density of 3.9 kilograms per square meter.

For corrosion protection, acid-resistant bricks are more suitable; the quality must be excellent, as some of them can easily get damaged during installation
