Dear acid industry professionals, regarding the pre-conversion system: should the gas be diverted to the pre-conversion unit from the inlet of the sulfur dioxide fan or from its outlet? What are the advantages and disadvantages of each approach to pre-conversion? Let’s discuss this!

Pre-conversion systems are now widely used. When air is distributed at the inlet of the main fan, a greater pressure increase is required for the backup fan, which places higher demands on that fan. Currently, air distribution takes place at the outlet of the main fan; in this case, the backup fan only needs to handle the pressure increase required by the pre-conversion system.
