Leshan Ruifeng Metallurgy has applied for a patent related to the use of high-salt wastewater in the production of sodium sulfate; by-products such as calcium fluoride and sodium sulfate can be recycled as resources. According to news from August 2, 2025, **information from the Intellectual Property Office shows that Sichuan Province’s Leshan Ruifeng Metallurgy Co., Ltd. has filed a patent application titled “A Method for Producing Sodium Sulfate Using High-Salt Wastewater,” with the publication number CN120398092A and an application date of May 2025. The patent abstract indicates that the present invention provides a method for preparing sodium sulfate using high-salt wastewater. The method includes: adding lanthanum oxide to the high-salt wastewater, then adding calcium hydroxide, and finally adding sodium hydroxide to obtain sodium sulfate. In this invention, lanthanum oxide is first added to the high-salt wastewater; the surface hydroxyl groups react with phosphate ions to form specific coordination bonds, thereby enabling selective adsorption of phosphate ions and achieving their removal. Calcium hydroxide is then added, as it readily combines with fluoride to form calcium fluoride, which has a lower solubility product, thus allowing for the removal of fluoride ions. Finally, sodium hydroxide is added to induce the supersaturation of sodium sulfate in the solution, facilitating its separation. The by-products generated in this process, such as calcium fluoride and sodium sulfate, can be recycled as resources.
