The 500,000-ton-per-year sulfuric acid production project at Wengfu Chemical, which utilizes mineral sources to produce sulfuric acid, began trial operation after half a year of construction work, individual unit tests, and comprehensive system adjustments. In mid-July, this project entered the trial production phase. As a key project of Wengfu, it carries out an innovative upgrade of Series A of the existing 2×400kt/a pyrite-based sulfuric acid production plant, transforming the process from one based on minerals to one based on sulfones. Once the project is completed and put into operation, the safety performance of the facilities will be significantly improved, and energy consumption levels will be greatly reduced. It will be able to supply 500,000 tons of high-quality industrial sulfuric acid to the industrial park on a yearly basis, while also generating 800,000 tons of clean energy steam, thereby achieving both efficient use of resources and green, low-carbon production. This renovation serves as a model for Wengfu’s thorough implementation of the new development philosophy and its pursuit of high-quality development. Through the innovative integration of the \"mining-to-sulfonate\" process technology, a technical pathway for the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries has been successfully established. This not only enables continuous conversion between old and new forms of energy but also implements the strategy of \"intensive utilization of rich mineral resources\", transforming these resources into competitive advantages for industries. It provides a solution for the green and intelligent development of the industry. This practice fully demonstrates Wengfu’s technical expertise and sense of responsibility as a leader in the industry, setting a new benchmark for the advanced, refined, and sustainable development of the traditional phosphorus chemical industry. From the groundbreaking on January 2 this year to the completion of trial operations, the project team strictly followed all the directives set by higher-level authorities, and managed to complete the entire process from detailed surveying to commissioning in just half a year, setting a new benchmark for the construction of similar facilities. With a spirit of determination to take on tough challenges, the builders overcame the complexities associated with equipment production and concurrent construction activities, as well as the difficulties posed by limited working space. This demonstrated the fighting spirit of builders in the new era who are willing to overcome obstacles, showcased Wengfu Chemical’s scientific organizational skills and technical capabilities in the development of key projects, and set a new benchmark for high-quality and rapid construction.
