Based on market demand, the company wants to produce 95.5% concentrated sulfuric acid. The process is to increase the concentration of dry acid and keep adding water to dilute the acid concentration. This operation can achieve the required concentration, but the computer's acid concentration meter shows that it has exceeded the range, and the actual acid concentration can only be calculated based on laboratory results. This is still secondary. The main concern is whether the 95.5% concentrated sulfuric acid has other characteristics, whether it will be detrimental to the equipment, and whether the drying effect will be reduced?

Generally speaking, the instrument is prone to malfunction when the dry acid concentration is around 93%, and 95.5% should avoid the inflection point on the acid concentration-conductivity curve that occurs when the acid concentration is around 93%, and the instrument problem should be solved.
Leaving aside the instrument, if no water is added to the dry acid, its concentration increases from 93% to 96%. Will such a concentration change have any impact on the circulating acid tank and acid pipeline? some people say: If the acid concentration changes greatly, the oxide film formed in the acid tank and pipelines will easily fail, causing further corrosion until a stable oxide film is formed again after the acid concentration stabilizes. I personally feel that this statement cannot be verified. I don’t know what you think?
Dry acid can completely use 98% sulfuric acid. Ours is 300,000 tons/year. Just dilute the dry acid with water. If the load is stable and the production is stable, the acid concentration table can be ignored. Just do a concentration analysis every hour. There is no technical problem, it’s just that the frequency of analysis is high!
Agree with the 5th floor, you can directly use 96% acid as drying acid. There are analytical instruments for 96% acid on the market. Our drying acid is about 96% acid.

At the same time, if the concentration of 93 acid is not well controlled, it may easily cause corrosion of the acid cooler. So if your company’s 95.5 acid is marketable, it is recommended to use it.

It is necessary to calculate the flow rate of the cross-acid pipe. If the flow rate is too high, it will easily wear the oxide layer and corrode the pipeline.
