The wear-resistant polyurethane spraying technology is essentially a coating application method; after curing, it forms materials with various mechanical properties. It goes beyond the scope of conventional coatings, representing an organic combination of new materials, new equipment, and new processes. Compared with traditional wear-resistant and anti-corrosion materials (or coatings), it has the following advantages: (l) It cures rapidly; it can be sprayed on any curved, inclined, or vertical surface without sagging, and its gelation time is short. (2) It is not sensitive to moisture or humidity, and is not affected by environmental temperature and humidity during installation. (3) 100% solid content, free of any volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and environmentally friendly. (4) It can be sprayed at a volume ratio of 1:1 or 2:1; the thickness achieved in a single application can range from several hundred micrometers to several centimeters, overcoming the drawbacks of previous multi-application methods. (5) Excellent physical and chemical properties, such as tensile strength, elongation, flexibility, wear resistance, aging resistance, and corrosion resistance. (6) The formulation can be adjusted arbitrarily, with a hand feel ranging from soft rubber Shore (A30) to hard elastomers (D65). It can meet various operational requirements. (7) The coating is dense and seamless, with excellent resistance to various media; it can withstand long-term erosion by water, seawater, acids, alkalis, salts, oils, and other substances. (8) It has good adhesion; its adhesion to steel is greater than 10 MPa, and it does not detach over time. (9) Excellent wear resistance: in submerged conditions, its wear resistance is 8 times that of cemented carbide steel, 5–7 times that of vulcanized rubber, and 3 times that of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene. This material not only possesses high strength but also excellent cushioning and energy absorption properties. 10. It features high resistance to salt spray corrosion and excellent freeze resistance, allowing for normal operation over a wide temperature range of -57°C to 93°C; special models can withstand temperatures up to 170°C. It has an attractive appearance, and by adding various colors and dyes, products of different colors can be created. As a result, it maintains cleanliness, possesses an elegant appearance, and does not fade over time. It exhibits good prototype reproducibility; the coating is continuous, dense, seam-free, and pinhole-free, offering both aesthetic appeal and practicality, along with excellent UV protection.
