According to Sinochem New Network, recently, the 60,000-ton carbon fiber project of Jilin Chemical Fiber Group – specifically, the 4,000-ton high-efficiency large-tow production line – was successfully commissioned on its first attempt. This project features the world’s largest single-line production capacity and the widest fabric width for high-efficiency carbonization lines; its commissioning marks a new breakthrough for China in the field of advanced equipment manufacturing and large-scale production of large-tow carbon fibers. This production line project was launched in the second half of 2025, and it took nearly half a year to achieve its first commissioning and operation; it is a domestically produced production line designed through innovation, leveraging the company’s extensive technical expertise. The project boasts the core advantage of having the widest furnace width in the world, with an annual production capacity of over 4,000 tons per line – doubling the output of traditional carbonization lines in the industry, which have a capacity of around 2,000 tons per line. In recent years, with the continuous development of China’s new energy industry and the increasing installation capacity of wind turbines, there has been a growing demand for larger wind turbine blades. The production line put into operation this time keeps up with the trend toward larger wind power equipment; it is capable of meeting the requirements of the largest domestic offshore wind turbine blades with a diameter of 292 meters, as well as the high-performance demands of the world’s largest wind turbine blades in terms of rotor diameter. It is reported that during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, Jilin Chemical Fiber’s production and sales volume of carbon fiber rose from 600 tons to 56,000 tons, placing it first among global carbon fiber manufacturers. The commissioning of this new production line will further strengthen Jilin Chemical Fiber’s scale and technical advantages, helping the province’s carbon fiber industry make new breakthroughs in high-end equipment, large-scale production, and industrial chain coordination, thereby accelerating the development of a world-class carbon fiber industry base. Sun Xiaojun, deputy general manager of Jilin Chemical Fiber Group, said that during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, Jilin Chemical Fiber will accelerate the development of the carbon fiber industry, keep pace with the progress in **new energy development, and meet the demand for carbon fiber in fields such as the low-altitude economy and embodied intelligent robots. According to the plan, Jilin Chemical Fiber will bring 5 carbonization lines online in the first half of the year, thereby increasing its carbon fiber production capacity to over 80,000 tons.
