It has established various cooperation mechanisms focused on innovation across the entire value chain, including basic research, development of key technologies, and the commercialization of research results, in an effort to pursue long-term partnerships. Over the past three years, there has been an accelerated transformation of scientific and technological achievements, generating a total revenue of 892 million yuan. In 2026, focus will be placed on areas such as hydroformylation for the production of high-carbon alcohols, new polyolefin products, lubricants for high-speed trains and turbines, and hydrogenation of distillate oils, with the aim of putting mature technologies into practical use. “We need not only results but also, through collaborative efforts, to cultivate a group of interdisciplinary talents who understand both theory and industry. ”Li Huichao, director of CNOOC Refining & Chemicals, deputy secretary of the Party committee, and secretary of the Party committee of CNOOC Materials Science Institute, said that in terms of the joint training of scientific and technical talents, over the past two years the CNOOC Materials Science Institute has explored new models of cooperation between schools and enterprises as well as dual-track education. It has established a \"1+N\" collaborative training system for master’s and doctoral degrees in collaboration with universities such as East China University of Science and Technology and Zhejiang University, and implemented a dual-mentor system.
