The 200,000 tons per year (Phase I) adiponitrile project of China Pingmei Shenma Group was completed in its entirety on the morning of April 3. The total investment in this project is 1.874 billion yuan; it utilizes processes developed independently by the group, resulting in a product purity of 99.9% and performance that ranks among the best in the world. This project boasts significant advantages such as low cost, low energy consumption, and high economic efficiency. Thus, China’s Pingmei Shennma Group has established a dual-driven model based on \"adiponitrile + hexamethylenenitrile,\" eliminating the risk of shortages in the key raw materials for nylon 66 and thereby enhancing the security of the nylon industry chain. Meanwhile, the start of Phase 3 of the Aisan project is imminent. The group has become the only company in the world to possess both adiponitrile and aminocapronitrile as its core technologies, thereby establishing a diversified support system for the nylon 66 industry chain and creating a solid barrier to ensure the security of this industry chain. Adiponitrile is a key monomer for producing nylon 66 salts, nylon 66 fibers, and high-performance engineering plastics, and is regarded as the \"industrial chip\" of the nylon 66 industry chain. For a long time, its technology has been monopolized by international giants, posing a serious threat to the security of China’s new materials industry.
