Identify and rectify potential risks and hazards. -------------------------------------------------- On June 18, Tianjin Bohai Chemical Co., Ltd. announced that the 160,000-ton-per-year acrylic acid production facility, which is part of the company’s project to develop new materials such as acrylates and superabsorbent resins using funds raised through financing, was officially put into operation on June 16. Bohai Chemical stated that since the 50,000 tons per year high-absorbency resin production facility has not yet been completed, it will take some time to establish a complete industrial chain. Moreover, there are uncertainties regarding future market conditions; factors such as fluctuations in raw material prices and increased competition could arise, posing the risk that the project’s returns may not meet expectations. According to previous announcements, the total investment in these new projects involving acrylate and superabsorbent resin materials is 2.25 billion yuan. The projects will mainly include a 160,000-ton/year acrylate production facility, a 30,000-ton/year methyl acrylate/ethyl acrylate production facility (with the ability to switch between the production of methyl acrylate and ethyl acrylate), a 160,000-ton/year butyl acrylate/isooctyl acrylate production facility (with the ability to switch between the production of butyl acrylate and isooctyl acrylate), a 40,000-ton/year crySTALLine acrylate production facility, a 50,000-ton/year superabsorbent resin production facility, as well as related supporting facilities.
