Is the liquefied gas washing tank in use? How often should the water be changed?
Use it! The washing tank is used for washing alkali, and the water doesn’t need to be changed very often
Shouldn’t the water used for washing alkali be changed on time as well? Have you done any analysis of the water inside? What is the COD level?
We supply water and drain it continuously; we have not conducted COD tests on a regular basis
So what kind of water do you use? We use demineralized water; that would result in a lot of waste
We also use demineralized water; we test the pH value using test strips, and we can also test the wastewater from the MTBE washing tower – this mainly affects the MTBE catalyst
What is your pH level? Can it affect MTBE? Do you mean that the C4 compounds are carried over into MTBE after separation?

When the alkaline solution becomes dirty, it can easily get into the feed tanks for the gas separation process, resulting in carbon tetrafluoride being contaminated with alkali. MTBE catalysts are acidic in nature, and catalysts contaminated with alkali tend to become inactive; it’s sufficient for the wastewater to be neutral. What size is your plant? How much water should be added?
What is your water inflow rate? Is the water supplied continuously, and is the wastewater discharged continuously as well?
