On May 10, reporters learned that the second ketone-phenol unit at Daqing Refining & Chemical Corporation successfully completed the oil change for the ammonia compressor, replacing imported specialty oils with domestically produced refrigeration oils. This not only helped to break away from dependence on imports but also created significant opportunities for cost reduction; the procurement costs dropped by 62.33% compared to the previous level, with each oil change saving approximately 76,000 yuan. The ammonia compressor is the key equipment in ketone-benzene plants for producing paraffin products. It relies heavily on imported refrigeration oil, which not only results in high purchase costs and long lead times, but also makes it easy to face supply disruptions and delays in restocking, thereby imposing various pressures on cost control and the steady operation of such plants over extended periods. To resolve this issue, the equipment research team for the ketone-benzene unit thoroughly analyzed the operating parameters and operational requirements. They conducted multiple rounds of performance tests and compatibility trials on domestically produced oils, ultimately selecting a domestic alternative oil that meets the unit’s operating conditions. After the new oil was filled for the first time and thoroughly circulated under no-load and light-load conditions, the unit operated steadily, with vibration levels remaining within the A and B ranges throughout. After 72 hours of operation, all oil sample tests came back positive, indicating good oil quality, and there were no leaks in the system. The substitution of imported oils with domestic alternatives for ammonia compressors has not only significantly reduced procurement and maintenance costs, but also generated comprehensive experience spanning technical selection, standardized operations, and trial operation monitoring, providing a replicable and applicable model for the use of domestic oils in similar equipment within the company.
